With more than 20 years of experience, Jeff is a recognized expert in the areas of corporate renewal, forensic accounting, and litigation support. As a turnaround manager, he provides financial advisory services to debtors, senior lenders, and creditor committees in Chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings. He has extensive experience evaluating the viability of troubled companies and developing and implementing responsive profit enhancement, debt restructuring, and asset disposition solutions. As a crisis manager, he assists clients by providing hands-on interim financial management.
Jeff regularly functions as an expert witness, both in Chapter 11 and non-bankruptcy commercial litigation matters, and has provided expert testimony in various federal and state courts. He has served as an expert in the following types of matters, among others: bankruptcy litigation, breach of contract, damage analysis/lost profits, and valuation disputes. He also specializes in forensic accounting including the investigation and detection of fraud, and has served in a number of fiduciary capacities including chief restructuring officer, receiver, and independent liquidating agent.
Jeff’s experience covers a wide range of industries, including automotive supply, automotive dealerships, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, retail, contracting, aerospace, financial services, transportation, and food service. He has provided consulting services to businesses ranging from $10 million to over $1 billion in annual revenue.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, Jeff was Senior Managing Director with Conway MacKenzie & Dunleavy in Detroit where he specialized in insolvency and reorganization, litigation support, and forensic accounting. Before that, he was employed by Deloitte & Touche. In 2005, he was named to the “People to Watch – Business Professionals Making Their Mark” list by Turnarounds & Workouts.
Jeff is a Certified Turnaround Professional, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Public Accountant. In addition, he is Accredited in Business Valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.
