Leif C. Salomonsen

Leif is an experienced business executive with an impressive track record of substantial improvement and turnaround of public and private international industrial companies facing severe operational and financial challenges. He has proven ability to improve corporate value in complex industrial situations while managing the delicate balancing act between internal and external stakeholders’ interests.

Leif has been providing financial, legal, and operational restructuring services to international industrial enterprises through his own consulting firm, Gracchus AB, for the last seven years, operating out of Sweden. His assignments through Gracchus include:

  • TH Global Plc (formerly Kvaerner Plc and Trafalgar House Plc), where he served as Chairman and CEO heading a workout characterized by complicated legal and financial challenges in multiple jurisdictions and with complex operational and pension challenges (London-based).
  • Kvaerner ASA (listed in Norway), where he served as President and CEO of the residual of the old Kværner and Trafalgar House companies structuring the businesses and realizing values.
  • Raufoss ASA (listed in Norway), where he served as President and CEO leading the company through a very challenging period with major restructurings and sale of all operating entities.
Formerly, Leif served as a senior management consultant in Norway and Sweden as Managing Partner in Interforum Partners. He started his career with BP and worked 19 years with Norsk Hydro, first in its Oil & Gas Division (now listed as StatoilHydro ASA) and then in the Agriculture Division (now listed as Yara ASA). In the latter position, he successfully completed a major restructuring and efficiency program for the Nordic and Baltic region.

Leif holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in offshore engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, and has completed various courses in business administration at the Norwegian School of Management and various management programs at IMD, Switzerland, including the Norsk Hydro Corporate Leadership program and the Orchestrating Winning Performance program several times.

He is a native Norwegian and has lived and worked in the UK and Sweden. He speaks Norwegian, English, Swedish, and Danish.
