Pierre has more than 20 years of experience working in financial services as both a line manager and a consultant in areas ranging from capital markets to retail banking to insurance. His areas of expertise include technology and operations, cost containment, strategic sourcing, large-scale outsourcing/off-shoring, post-merger rationalization, and organizational/business line restructuring. Pierre’s most recent assignments include:
- Identifying significant savings opportunities for the centralized technology group of a global financial institution.
- Founding Partner of Alexander James/Mitchell Madison Group in New York. Launched an advisory business specializing in bottom-line improvement. His focus was on growing both the client base (in capital markets, healthcare, retail/commercial banking, card, and insurance) and staff (from 4 to 60 in 36 months). In addition to classic consulting, the firm also created innovative risks/reward-sharing arrangements for its clients.
- Partner of the Financial Services Strategy practice at Deloitte Consulting, New York. Engagements included outsourcing the technology platforms of a major global European bank in ten months, assisting a global investment bank’s post-9/11 asset recovery and insurance monies in the technology and operations areas, reducing market data spend for several large banks, and capturing large savings targets in one of the largest banking mergers (2000-2005).
- Chief Procurement Officer for the Chase Manhattan Bank, New York. Responsibilities included optimizing the purchase of more than $4 billion of annual spend as well as managing corporate services functions (excluding real estate). He led the adoption of productivity tools for procure-to-pay processes, professionalization of the sourcing functions, and collaborated closely with all of the bank’s business units globally.
- Founding Partner of the Mitchell Madison Group – a 750 professional consulting firm focused on financial services. Key engagements include developing sourcing approaches for technology and operations in banking (techniques applied in more than 60 engagements), linking cost of technology to business priorities, creating detailed expense accountability and transparency throughout a number of financial institutions and insurance companies.
- Manager in the Private Equity group of Charterhouse Bank, London. Role consisted of assessing and valuing investment opportunities for the Charterhouse European Fund.
- Market Representative, IBM Corporation, Paris. Focused on non-IBM automotive and industry areas where he successfully developed new clients and consistently exceeded sales targets.
