Mel Christiansen is responsible for all areas of administration for AlixPartners and affiliates, including accounting and finance, human resources, risk management, information technology and facilities planning. In addition, Mel advises troubled middle market companies during workout negotiations with creditors and lenders, develops cash flow management strategies and counsels clients developing new business plans.
Mel's background includes 12 years of experience with Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served as the director of administration for its 500-person Detroit office. In this capacity, he was responsible for the financial area, all office support areas, library services and facilities planning. Mel spent the first four years of his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in the Audit and the Tax Divisions, specializing in oil and gas and manufacturing.
Mel holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mel, who once lived in South America, is fluent in Spanish.
