Todd Brents is a senior member of AlixPartners’ Case Management Services practice and has more than 17 years of professional experience in finance and accounting management. He has a proven track record of developing and implementing solutions to improve finance and accounting operations, and has experience in the retail, manufacturing, distribution, and technology industries. Todd is based in the Dallas office, and is currently focusing on assisting companies with their Chapter 11 reorganizations and litigation matters.
Todd has worked on such projects as New Century Financial Corporation; Refco, Inc.; Mirant Corporation; Exide Technologies; Sunterra Corporation and Safety-Kleen, assisting them in various aspects of their restructurings. He also served as the CFO and Controller of Genuity, Inc., during its bankruptcy proceedings. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the financial activities of its US operations, and winding down its US and foreign operations. Todd also has provided expert testimony and analysis to numerous clients in relation to preference recoveries and litigation.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, Todd was at Frito-Lay, Inc., where he held several positions in treasury, operations analysis and credit. As Credit Manager for Frito-Lay’s US unit, Todd established and executed credit and collection policies for 45,000 customers and a $600M receivables portfolio. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Controller of Color Tile, Inc., a national specialty retailer. He began his career with Arthur Andersen’s Dallas audit practice.
Todd holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Management Accountant, and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor. (AlixPartners is not a CPA firm.)
