Barry is a senior member of AlixPartners’ Case Management Services practice. He is an experienced information technology professional with expertise in workflow analysis, the redesign and consolidation of business processes, and the negotiation and resolution of complex business disputes. He has significant experience in many industries, including automotive, manufacturing, distribution, telecommunications, wholesale food distribution and energy.
Barry is based in our Dallas office and is currently focusing on assisting companies with their Chapter 11 reorganizations. He specializes in maneuvering large clients through the bankruptcy process and has provided critical testimony and affidavits in support of various motions in bankruptcy court.
Barry has worked on numerous engagements including Hayes-Lemmerz International, Regal Cinemas, Exide Technologies, DirectTV Latin America, Genuity, Foster Wheeler, Cable & Wireless, Fleming Companies, and Calpine Corporation. Currently, Barry is assisting Calpine Corporation through their Chapter 11 restructuring.
Prior to Calpine, Barry managed the credit and collections operations of Fleming Companies, Inc., once a $14 billion wholesale food distribution company. In the course of his duties with Fleming, he handled the negotiation and collection of an $80 million receivables portfolio. The resulting complex settlement agreements often included the resolution of issues with up to six unique constituents.
Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Barry worked for fourteen years at DFMC Corporation, a distribution company selling products to the banking industry. Barry began his career as a programmer/analyst for Trinity Industries, Inc. the nation's largest railcar manufacturer.
Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in statistical methods and computer science from Louisiana State University.
