C.V. Ramachandran

C.V. is a senior member of AlixPartners' Performance Improvement practice.
He has a strong track record of helping automotive, consumer products and aerospace/defense companies improve operational performance and drive tangible results to the bottom line. His functional expertise includes innovation / product development, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, manufacturing and overhead cost reduction.

Prior to AlixPartners, C.V. spent thirteen successful years in management consulting, first as a partner at Booz ·Allen & Hamilton and then at A.T. Kearney. During this time, he has had several leadership roles, both in developing key client relationships and in building and managing the firm. Some of the typical assignments that C.V. has led include:
  • Purchased cost reductions including highly-effective processes for optimizing supplier integration and rationalizing part number complexity
  • Overhead cost reductions including improved sourcing and management of maintenance contracts/supplies, corporate services and facility operations
  • Product development process improvements via application of best practices – to simultaneously reduce prototyping / people costs and improve time to market
  • Supply chain streamlining including network rationalization and transportation sourcing
  • Inventory reductions without impacting uptime or service levels required
  • Manufacturing footprint and operating process rationalization to improve utilization and reduce total operating costs
  • Post merger integration with sustainable shareholder value creation

At both A.T. Kearney and Booz-Allen & Hamilton, C.V. has received the highest awards for delivering client results and for developing strong consulting teams. C.V. has also published multiple articles and presented at several conferences covering topics that include sourcing, innovation, supplier integration and supply chain management.

Prior to management consulting, C.V. worked first with Midland Ross Corporation and then with Ford Motor Company for 10 years. His responsibilities included manufacturing process and productivity improvement. At Ford, he also worked closely with Japanese automotive suppliers to transfer lean manufacturing techniques to Ford's glass manufacturing plants.

C.V. has an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; an MS in Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh; and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is a member of the National Institute of Purchasing Managers.
