Stefano Aversa is a talented and highly skilled turnaround expert. He brings an enviable track record, polished approach and over 20 years of experience to AlixPartners. A results-oriented visionary, Stefano has recorded noteworthy successes in both the automotive and consumer goods industries.
Stefano is a Co-President of AlixPartners, leading the firm's European and Asian business initiatives. He continues to work with clients, helping guide major industrial companies with strategy development and turnaround programs focused on tangible and significant results.
- Redesigned and implemented the new European logistics system for a global tire manufacturer. The project addressed all main supply chain management areas: capacity planning, production planning, the distribution system and network.
- Led a major turnaround effort for a well known 2-wheeler which cut 10 points out of the cost chain and recovered the profitability in 18 months.
- Designed and led a comprehensive post merger integration and turnaround program for a global powertrain manufacturer with 15 points of cost synergies in 24 months.
- Revised the sourcing strategy and the organization of a leading brakes manufacturer, which resulted in a relevant net operating result improvement. For the same client, developed the brake-by-wire strategy and reviewed the product development process and tools.
- Developed and implemented a set of performance improvement initiatives for a global Automotive OEM including design to cost, new supply chain strategy (with total stock reduction by 50% and improved customer service), sales and distribution network restructuring.
Formerly, Stefano served as a Technology Manager at Magneti Marelli, the Automotive Component Division of Fiat Group. While there, he led a team in restructuring and expanding initiatives, investment evolution, selection and follow-up, process and testing engineering, production methods and efficiency improvement.
Early in his career he was an assistant to the CEO of Axis, a world leader in DC Motor production lines. Stefano has worked in Italy across various industries, such as consumer goods, retail, chemical and construction.
Stefano holds an MBA degree from the University of Turin, and a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and robotics from the University of Florence, both with honors. He is a member of the Aspen Institute Italia, Bocconi University Advisors, Society of Automotive Analysts and the World Economic Forum. He is fluent in Italian, English and French, and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
