Harvey R. Kelly

Harvey is a Managing Director with AlixPartners responsible for the firm’s New York financial advisory services practice. He has more than twenty-four years of experience as a financial consultant specializing in forensic reviews, litigation consulting, and auditing.

Harvey has represented boards of directors, investors, creditors, and even the federal court in financial investigations. He has led engagements on behalf of the boards of directors of Comverse Technologies, Cardinal Health, HealthSouth, WorldCom, Adelphia and Xerox, among others. He has performed such services in connection with internal reviews, legal proceedings and regulatory investigations. In connection with such matters, he has consulted with clients on SEC reporting implications, restatement of previously issued financial information, and loss recovery efforts. Among other issues, he has investigated financial reporting errors and fraud, potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, stock option practices and related party transactions. He has been responsible for investigations in more than 30 foreign countries.

Harvey served as the court-appointed Examiner in the bankruptcy proceedings of Communications Network Corporation. Harvey led a team of forensic accountants and information technology specialists assisting the Independent Examiner appointed by the court in connection with a deferred prosecution agreement between the Department of Justice and Computer Associates. He also served as the Independent Consultant to the Board of McAfee, Inc. for the purposes of monitoring the company’s accounting practices and internal controls as required by its settlement agreement with the SEC. He led a team of forensic accountants supporting the Independent Consultant assigned to analyze practices, internal controls and other matters at a major company in the reinsurance industry in connection with that company’s settlement with the SEC.

Harvey’s accounting and auditing experience includes managing and directing financial statement audits for numerous public and private companies in industries such as technology, retail, manufacturing, real estate, and production distribution.

Harvey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University. He is a certified public accountant, member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and various state certified public accountant associations. Prior to joining AlixPartners, Harvey was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

He has authored several articles on financial accounting, financial fraud, securities litigation and related matters. Harvey is also a frequent speaker on these topics.
