Martin Hall is an experienced financial expert with over 14 years of diverse experience in forensic accounting and as an accounting expert witness in the areas of valuation, breach of contract and loss of profits, acquisitions and disposals, minority shareholder and joint venture disputes, accounts interpretation and intellectual property matters. He has testified in Court and other tribunals in the UK and Hong Kong on numerous occasions in connection with significant commercial disputes.
Martin has also been involved in major financial investigations, many in the financial services, banking, and commodities markets, and he was previously appointed as an Inspector by the UK’s Department of Trade and Industry to investigate suspected insider dealing.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, Martin helped to establish Lee & Allen Consulting Limited, a specialist forensic accounting practice, where he served as one of its directors. He was also the director in charge of Lee & Allen’s Hong Kong office. Previously, he was with Price Waterhouse in its London, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi offices as part of the litigation support practice where he was involved in major investigations, including BCCI, and large-scale litigation assignments.
Martin graduated with honours with a BSc degree in chemistry with management science from Imperial College, University of London. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
