Yuji Nishiura

Yuji is a Managing Director and Japan Representative with more than 30 years of experience in the financial services and management consulting industries.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, Yuji was the Japan Representative of two international management consulting firms, Booz Allen and Hamilton, and Roland Berger. Under his leadership, these two consulting firms successfully took large steps toward becoming major players in the Japanese market.

Yuji has worked for many Japanese and multi-national clients regarding their strategy development, implementation program development, and organizational design. He also led many business turnaround initiatives for various companies in deep distress.

Prior to Booz Allen and Roland Berger, Yuji spent nearly 15 years in the banking industry. He worked for both Japanese banks (The Sumitomo Trust and Banking Co.,Ltd) and US Banks (Citibank). At Citibank, he was a Vice President in charge of strategy development and marketing for the private banking business in Japan.

In addition, Yuji devotes much effort to educate and develop young professionals. As a professor at The Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business, which is Japan's first MBA school available through distance education, he teaches organizational management. His practical and inspiring lecture enjoys a good reputation among students.

Yuji holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan. He authored several books including Marketing Innovation of Financial Services , Management Imagination, and The Next Business Leader.
