Jeff is a managing director in AlixPartners’ Information Technology Transformation Services Practice.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, he was the chief executive officer of Verify and Protect, Inc., a security software company based in Chicago that brings to market software solutions that yield state-of-the-art authentication and secure data transmission. He led the company from creation in 2002 to ultimate sale.
Previously, Jeff was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand, and later PricewaterhouseCoopers, leading a major segment of the IT Strategy business. Earlier in his career, Jeff was the CIO at a leading Chemical manufacturer.
Jeff has delivered many critical results for clients in a variety of industries, including:
- Development and delivery management of global IT strategies for numerous clients in industries such as consumer products, industrial products, medical products, electric and gas utilities, automotive, and media and entertainment
- Creation and hands-on management of large critical business change programs – many after previous failures. Examples include:
- New supply chain for large retailer across all divisions
- New contact center, order processing, and field operations for major utility
- New eBusiness environment for large consumer products concern
- New Vendor Management and B-to-B processing for major automotive manufacturer
- New Supply Chain/Financial processes for a large foreign automotive manufacturer
- Transformation of the global IT function and the management of IT within major organizations, including:
- Creation of global IT Shared Services for several organizations
- IT organization overhaul on a global basis for several organizations (including structure, process/metrics, and people components)
- IT Governance
- IT sourcing analysis and management thereof for several companies.
As a CIO, Jeff oversaw the complete replacement of business applications and infrastructure in a critical IT-turnaround situation for the business – as well as turning around the IT function.
Jeff has served on the board of the Society of Information Management, been a featured speaker at industry events, taught graduate-level courses at Midwest universities, and has been a regular member of the Council of Logistics Management.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and marketing and an MBA from Northern Illinois University.
