AlixPartners Adds Restructuring and Electronic Discovery Executives To Its NY and LA Offices

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN (November 21, 2007) – AlixPartners, the global restructuring, consulting, and financial advisory firm, announced the appointment of two new directors: Brian J. Fox who joins the firm’s Turnaround and Restructuring Services practice in New York, and Matt Layton who joins the firm’s Case Management Services practice in Los Angeles.

Fox is a financial and operational restructuring executive with extensive experience in many industries, including manufacturing, retail, apparel, aerospace and defense, consumer products and distribution. Prior to joining the firm, he was a managing director with Conway, Del Genio, Gries & Co., LLC. Before that, he was a partner in Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance practice. During his career, he has advised companies and other parties with respect to debt restructuring transactions in the development and analysis of strategic and operating plans, business valuation and debt capacity, sourcing and the structuring of alternative financing, and the development and negotiation of debt restructuring alternatives. Fox received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Hofstra University and his MBA from Fordham University.

Layton has more than 12 years of experience in the management and analysis of large-scale and complex data sets with a particular emphasis on the design and development of customized database applications to support class action litigation. He also specializes in the area of electronic discovery, assisting clients with the collection, review, and production of electronically-stored information during the discovery process. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he was a senior manager at LECG, LLC, where he directed all facets of the electronic discovery and data analytics practice for the Los Angeles office. Prior to LECG, he was a partner at Criterium Consulting Group, a boutique litigation consulting firm specializing in the construction industry. Before that, he was a senior manager at Navigant Consulting Inc., where he led the information and data management practice for the southwestern region. Layton received a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Indiana University, a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Whittier College School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in California and Colorado.
