AlixPartners Adds Mergers and Acquisitions and Accounting Experts
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN (December 11, 2007) – AlixPartners, the global restructuring, consulting, and financial advisory firm, announced the appointment of two new directors: Christian Cook who joins the firm’s Performance Improvement practice in Southfield, Michigan and Vadim Riber who joins the firm’s Financial Advisory Services practice in Chicago.
Cook has extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures as well as operations. With more than 12 years of professional experience, he has focused on the operational impacts and improvements arising from both acquisitions and divestitures. He has worked across the entire M&A lifecycle from due diligence to post-merger integrations and separations. His operational improvement projects, addressed in association with transactions, include plant rationalization, enterprise lean, cost reduction, product development processes, order-to-delivery processes, strategic sourcing and organizational design.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, Cook was a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting in the Mergers & Acquisitions practice, where he focused on the M&A needs of manufacturing clients. He received an International MBA from University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
Riber has extensive experience working with prominent, high-growth, and entrepreneurial private and public companies. His expertise covers many industries, including manufacturing, distribution and service businesses. He has been involved with several initial public offerings and has significant experience with SEC reporting requirements for both young and well-established companies. He has a strong foundation in accounting principles with the ability to apply technical guidance to real-life business issues. These skills were honed by spending two years working in PricewaterhouseCoopers’s National Office in the Accounting Consulting Services group, where he was a Senior Manager in the Audit practice prior to joining AlixPartners. In that role, he dealt with some of PwC’s largest and more complicated public and private companies.
Riber received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
