Restructuring Expert Joins AlixPartners in Chicago

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN (January 21, 2008) – AlixPartners, the global restructuring, consulting, and financial advisory firm, announced the addition of a new managing director, Carl Lane, who joins the firm’s Turnaround and Restructuring Services practice in Chicago.

Lane has more than 16 years of experience as a financial consultant providing reorganization and restructuring consulting to major distressed companies, creditors, shareholders, and other interested parties, both in and out of court. He has assisted management in developing restructuring initiatives to improve operations, profitability, and liquidity; performed analyses on the restructuring of capital and assisted in the disposition of assets; and prepared and assessed complex financial projections and business plans.

Having served both public and private companies in various industries, Lane’s experience includes automotive, construction, financial institutions, food and consumer products, health care, publishing, real estate and hospitality, manufacturing, retail and distribution and transportation. His recent engagements include Bally Total Fitness, Federal Mogul, an automotive parts supplier, a regional baking company, and a national association.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, Lane was a principal at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services in Chicago, and served as the director of corporate planning and development of an international publisher.

Lane is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, and holds a Certificate in Distressed Business Valuation. He is also a director for the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association. He is a frequent speaker and author on the subject of corporate restructuring.

Lane received both a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with high honors and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Florida.
