AlixPartners Announces the Appointment of Leif Christian Salomonsen

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN (February 25, 2008) – AlixPartners, the global restructuring, consulting, and financial advisory firm, announced the appointment of Leif Christian Salomonsen, who joins the firm’s London office as a managing director in its Turnaround and Restructuring Services practice. He will be instrumental in building the firm’s nascent Nordic operations.

Salomonsen is an experienced business executive with an impressive track record of turning around and substantially improving public and private industrial companies facing severe operational and financial challenges. He has proven ability to improve corporate value in complex industrial situations while managing the delicate balancing act between internal and external stakeholders’ interests.

Before joining AlixPartners, Salomonsen had been providing financial, legal, and operational restructuring services to international industrial enterprises through his own consulting firm, Gracchus AB, for the last seven years, operating out of Sweden. Before that, he served as a senior management consultant in Norway and Sweden as the managing partner in Interforum Partners. He started his career with BP and worked 19 years with Norsk Hydro, first in its Oil & Gas Division (now listed as StatoilHydro ASA) and then in the Agriculture Division (now listed as Yara ASA).

“We are pleased that Leif has joined AlixPartners,” said Michael Grindfors, the firm’s chief executive officer. “He is a seasoned and trusted professional with a proven track-record in the industrial space who will provide both strategic and hands-on turnaround counsel to our clients.”

Salomonsen holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in offshore engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, and has completed various courses in business administration at the Norwegian School of Management and various management programs at IMD, Switzerland.
