AlixPartners Adds IT Strategy and Restructuring Expert Jim Monastero

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN (April 22, 2008) – AlixPartners, the global restructuring, consulting, and financial advisory firm, announced the appointment of James Monastero as a Managing Director to the firm’s Information Technology Transformation Services practice, which focuses on helping clients make dramatic improvements in their IT organizations, investments, and programs. He will be based in New York.

Monastero is a seasoned executive with twenty years of hands-on experience, including ten years as a Partner/Managing Director with KPMG Consulting/BearingPoint, Inc. He assists senior executives design business strategies, restructure operations, transform enterprise processes, and reduce costs using IT. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he was BearingPoint’s first-ever global Chief People Officer, where he successfully restructured human capital functions for the company’s 17,500 professionals. He improved performance by redefining service offerings, restructuring operations to reduce operating and capital expenditures, renegotiating outsourcing contracts, and implementing new technologies.

Monastero received an MBA in finance and international business from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and also received a bachelor’s degree in business logistics from the Pennsylvania State University. He is an Adjunct Professor of Decision and Information Sciences at the Villanova University School of Business, where he teaches business, IT strategy and management to MBA students.
