AlixPartners Adds New Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, and Tax Directors

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN (May 1, 2008) – AlixPartners, the global restructuring, consulting, and financial advisory firm, announced that as a result of its continued growth, the firm has appointed three new Directors in its Southfield, Michigan headquarters: Ray Kantor as Director of Internal Audit, Robert Krupa as Director of Taxes, and Ron Sobczak as Director of Corporate Accounting.

Kantor has more than 14 years of extensive experience in the field of auditing, spanning a vast array of industries from automotive manufacturing to financial services. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he served as the Director of Internal Audit at Credit Acceptance Corporation in Southfield, Michigan. In this position, he built the Internal Audit department and led the efforts for becoming compliant with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act with special focus on Section 404 requirements for internal controls over financial reporting. He received his bachelor’s degree and MBA in accounting from Michigan State University. He is a registered CPA and Certified Internal Auditor in the State of Michigan.

Krupa has more than 30 years of extensive experience in tax and related financial areas within the automotive industry. Before joining AlixPartners, he served as Manager of Global Tax Accounting and Planning for American Axle & Manufacturing in Detroit. In this position he was responsible for all international corporate tax matters and management of all tax audits. Previous to that, he held similar positions at Saturn Electronics & Engineering and United Technologies Automotive. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and master’s degrees in both tax and finance from Walsh College. He is a member of the Tax Executives Institute.

Sobczak has more than 14 years of extensive experience in the field of financial reporting, accounting research, and auditing primarily in the automotive industry. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he served as Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Consolidations for TRW Automotive Holdings Corporation in Livonia, Michigan. In this position he was responsible for providing US GAAP guidance to corporate, business unit, and international manufacturing plant accounting departments; preparation of financial information contained in various SEC filings; and the consolidation of more than 200 domestic and international operating units. Prior to that position, he was a Senior Manager in the Assurance practice of KPMG LLP. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Dayton and is a registered CPA in the State of Michigan.
