New Leadership Team Joins AlixPartners’ Shanghai Office
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN (August 6, 2007) – AlixPartners, the global turnaround, consulting, and financial advisory firm, announced the appointment of Ivo Naumann as managing director of its Shanghai office. Christian Paul also joined the firm as director in the Shanghai office.
Mr. Naumann is an experienced international consultant and manager. He has worked with companies and clients in Asia, Europe and the US. He is an expert in advising strategic and financial investors in Asia and has deep operational and financial experience gained through more than 10 years of living and working in China and Japan. His primary experience is in the area of operational improvement, corporate strategy, and investment analysis as well as turnaround programs.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, Mr. Naumann was with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Shanghai, serving as partner and head of the Private Equity and Corporate Finance practice, and leader of the Financial Services Competence Center in Greater China. Before that Mr. Naumann worked for many years in the Tokyo office of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, where he served multinational and Japanese clients and in the Zurich office. During his career, he also acted for many years as a member of the board/statutory auditor for several multinational companies in Japan.
In addition to his consulting career, Mr. Naumann also worked as director of corporate strategy with Charles Schwab & Co. in San Francisco. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Trier, Germany, and he studied at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Naumann is fluent in Mandarin and Japanese, in addition to English and German.
Mr. Paul is an experienced international consultant with expertise in operational improvement, restructuring, and buy-/sell-side M&A situations. He has worked extensively for leading financial and strategic investors, both in China and Europe, and has also been leading multiple operational turnaround projects for multinational corporations. In China, he has worked extensively in the automotive industry, but also has strong experience in consumer goods, engineered products, and information technology.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, Mr. Paul was a Principal at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in China. He was a member of the Private Equity and Corporate Finance practice and of the Automotive Competence Center in China. He led multiple due diligence and performance improvement projects for leading private equity investors in industries such as consumer goods, automotive parts, and engineered products. He has also led comprehensive turnaround projects for major strategic investors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from University of Alabama, Birmingham, and he earned an MBA from Oxford University.
