AlixPartners Adds BSkyB Exec to its Growing London Office
LONDON (September 18, 2007) – AlixPartners, the global restructuring, consulting, and financial advisory firm, announced the appointment of a new managing director to its London office, Gary McIlraith.
McIlraith is an operations and supply chain expert with more than 22 years of experience in a range of industries, including media, entertainment, telecommunications, hi-tech, retail and consumer products. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he was customer operations director for British Sky Broadcasting responsible for delivery of all aspects of sales, customer service, technical service, and field operations to Sky’s 8.6 million customers. In this role, he spearheaded the development of Sky’s customer-facing operations to handle the increase in scale and complexity resulting from Sky’s transformation from a satellite pay-TV company into a whole-home entertainment and communications provider offering a wide range of television, Internet, broadband, and telephony services.
Before that, McIlraith was a vice president with AT Kearney management consultants, where he focused on helping companies in the retail, high-tech and consumer products sectors to deliver excellence in customer experience and operational effectiveness. He also previously served as a partner with KPMG and a senior manager at Accenture.
“We are very pleased that Gary has joined the firm,” said AlixPartners CEO Michael Grindfors. “With more than two decades of operational experience leading and advising companies through periods of challenge and change, he exemplifies the kind of hands-on leadership that delivers results, which is the hallmark of AlixPartners.”
McIlraith holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University College, Cardiff.
