Leading Real Estate Expert, Dennis Yeskey, Joins AlixPartners

NEW YORK (July 21, 2009) – AlixPartners LLP today announced that Dennis Yeskey has joined the firm as a senior advisor.  Based in the firm’s New York office, Yeskey will focus on growing the firm’s global real estate practice and spearheading other growth initiatives.

Over the course of his distinguished 35-year career, Yeskey has been involved in dozens of high-profile workouts, restructurings and reorganizations, including engagements at Travelers Life Insurance Co., Prudential Financial Inc., Trump Organization Inc., Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and Mellon Bank Corp.  He has also worked in several significant real estate purchases, serving clients such as Apollo Management LP, Blackstone Group LP, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Morgan Stanley Co., O’Connor Capital Partners and Starwood Capital Group LLC.  He has as well worked with several government agencies in dealing with troubled assets, such as the US Resolution Trust Corporation, the US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the US Post Office, as well as with Japanese and United Kingdom governmental entities.

“We are pleased to welcome Dennis to the global AlixPartners team.  As one of the world’s foremost real estate experts and a proven thought leader in the industry, his expertise will be a valuable addition to the firm’s capabilities as we focus on further expanding the scale and scope of our real estate practice,” said Fred Crawford, the firm’s chief executive officer.

Before joining AlixPartners, Yeskey served as national director of the Real Estate Capital Markets practice for Deloitte Consulting LLP.  He also built Deloitte’s New York-based Real Estate Services practice into an industry-leading operation, achieving an annual growth rate exceeding 25% with a staff of more than 250 professionals.  Before that, from the mid-80s to the mid-90s, he led a successful real estate practice at Kenneth Leventhal & Co., at the time one of the premier real estate restructuring firms in the world, where he was a partner.  Before that, he was a firm director with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  He began his career at A.T. Kearney Inc.  Yeskey holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering and an MBA in finance from Columbia University.  He is an active member of The Real Estate Roundtable, the Pension Real Estate Association and the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and he became a ULI Foundation Governor in 2008.

“I am extremely happy to join AlixPartners and for the opportunity to work alongside its talented team of seasoned professionals,” said Yeskey.  “The firm has built a strong platform of real estate engagements, including its current engagement at General Growth Properties, perhaps the biggest and most complex real estate restructuring in the world right now, bar none.  I am very much looking forward to contributing to the expansion of the firm’s practice, especially at a time when real estate is playing a larger and larger role in workouts for companies of all kinds.”
