SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN (January 13, 2010) – AlixPartners, the global business advisory firm, today announced the promotion of eight new managing directors effective January 1. They are: Francesco Barosi (Chicago office), Carrianne Basler (Chicago office), Michelle Campbell (Los Angeles office), John Dischner (Chicago office), David Johnston (New York office), Tsutomu Noda (Tokyo office), Robert Sullivan (New York office), and Paul Svindland (New York office).

Chicago
Francesco Barosi, who joined AlixPartners’ Milan office in 2003 and relocated to the Chicago office in 2006, was promoted to managing director in the firm’s Enterprise Improvement practice. He brings a global perspective to clients in a wide range of industries, including heavy equipment, automotive, telecommunications, transportation and logistics, energy, and steel. He is an expert in industrial pricing, supplier risk management, and business improvement programs. Immediately prior to joining AlixPartners, he worked as a senior associate with A.T. Kearney & Co. Inc. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and theoretical economics as well as a master’s degree in finance from Cattolica University in Milan, and an MBA from Bocconi University also in Milan.
Carrianne Basler joined AlixPartners in Detroit in 1995 and transferred to Chicago in 2003. She is a managing director in the firm’s Information Management Services practice. During her 14 years with the firm, she has held interim executive roles and served as financial advisor to many clients. She has extensive financial consulting experience combined with hands-on management in the areas of treasury, business planning, bankruptcy case administration, and risk management. Prior to her work with AlixPartners, she was a senior consultant with C.W. Amos & Co. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin, and she is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Insolvency and Reorganization Advisor.
John Dischner joined AlixPartners in its Chicago office in 1998. He is a managing director in the firm’s Turnaround and Restructuring Services practice. During his 11-year tenure with the firm, he has served in a variety of management roles and led international teams of AlixPartners personnel. His industry expertise includes real estate and homebuilding, financial services, manufacturing and consumer products, environmental services, and communications. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Northwestern University and his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional and a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor.

Los Angeles
Michelle Campbell joined AlixPartners in Los Angeles in 2006. She is a managing director in the firm’s Information Management Services practice. Drawing on her background as an attorney and a consultant, she has proven her ability to market the firm’s services, including communications, restructuring, electronic discovery, litigation consulting, claims and bankruptcy case administration. She developed the firm’s communications service offering, which creates and executes communications plans in connection with crisis events, investigations, restructurings, Chapter 11s, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining AlixPartners, she worked as a senior bankruptcy associate for the law firm White & Case LLP. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Southern California, and obtained her law degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She is a member of the National Board of Directors of Women in E-Discovery and the California and Texas state bars.

New York
David Johnston has been with AlixPartners in New York since 1998. He is a managing director in the firm’s Turnaround and Restructuring Services practice. He has held numerous restructuring management and advisory leadership roles with clients including, CFO, CAO, treasurer, controller, executive vice president of finance, and lead restructuring advisor. He has worked across a variety of industries, including power, automotive, telecom, pharmaceuticals, real estate, consulting and financial services. He is currently serving as the CFO of BearingPoint Inc. Prior to AlixPartners, he was an accountant with Plante & Moran PLLC. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics, management, and accounting from Albion College in Michigan. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor, and Certified Turnaround Professional.
Robert Sullivan joined the firm’s New York office in 2005. He is a managing director in the Enterprise Improvement practice where he serves clients in consulting and interim-executive management roles. He has more than 20 years of global experience in a wide range of industries including chemicals, polymers, oil and gas refining and extraction, utilities, manufacturing and distribution. His areas of expertise include post-merger integration, supply chain management, procurement, engineering and manufacturing operations. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he served as a vice president in A.T. Kearney’s operations practice. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Paul Svindland, who is a managing director in the firm’s Enterprise Improvement practice, joined AlixPartners’ New York office in 2006. He is an authority on the transportation and logistics industry, and he is widely recognized as a leader in that market. Prior to AlixPartners, he served as the global logistics lead for the outsourcing company ICG Commerce. His background also includes several years in management roles with Maersk Inc. He received a bachelor’s degree in transportation and operations from Syracuse University, and he earned his MBA in operations and marketing from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

Tsutomu Noda, a managing director in the firm’s Enterprise Improvement practice, joined the Tokyo office in 2007. He has nearly 20 years of experience in management consulting and with financial institutions, where he has provided a wide variety of services, including fundraising and investor relationships, monitoring of portfolio companies, administration management of buyout funds, and transaction-related strategic and business consulting. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Keio University in Tokyo and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.
