LONDON (April 27, 2010) - Before starting his own firm in 2008, Stein spent 29 years with JP Morgan & Co. dealing with stressed and distressed situations. During this period, he led some of the largest and most complex restructurings ever undertaken globally, including that of Centro Properties Group (which had a US$25 billion debt) and the Iraq sovereign debt workout of 2004 (a $20 billion debt). He has experience in many jurisdictions around the world, including working in Russia during that country’s financial crisis of 1998 and spending the last 20 years working all across continental Europe. He lived and worked in both Sweden and Norway during the Scandinavian banking crisis in the early 1990s and subsequently in Germany and France before moving to the UK in 1999.
