License Advisory Valuation
An AlixPartners team was retained to assist a Federal Monitor in analyzing hundreds of license agreements in place between an orthopedic medical device manufacturer and individual surgeons. Our team determined the remaining value of each license by analyzing the intellectual property underlying each agreement as well as various aspects of the market for the licensed products covered. Following our valuation of the license agreements, AlixPartners assisted the client in negotiating buy outs of the license agreements. Our work helped the company establish new agreements with terms acceptable to the Federal Monitor.
