A second-generation, family-owned leading food distribution company wanted to grow sales to over $1 billion. The company had developed a defensive growth strategy with sustainable organic growth, and by making successful acquisitions. AlixPartners reviewed the current situation and analyzed strategic alternatives for the Board of Directors, including leveraged recapitalization, sale of the business, and a leveraged ESOP. The Board of Directors decided to pursue a leveraged recapitalization. We hosted several management meetings with long-term banking partners, and launched a buy-side M&A effort. Through a leveraged recapitalization, the owners retained 100% of the equity and received a significant shareholder dividend.

Restructuring and Sale of Company

A company that produces highly-engineered components primarily for heavy equipment manufacturers hired AlixPartners to manage cash and explore restructuring alternatives, including advisory services in conjunction with the sale of the company. We advised the company on profitability initiatives, developed a management incentive plan for key executives and employees, and managed liquidity while improving working capital initiatives.
