Colley, Liam

Liam is a professional economist with 16 years’ experience in economics consulting and heads our European Economics Consulting practice in FAS. Liam specialises in the application of micro and industrial economics in the areas of competition, regulation, litigation and strategy. Liam has represented numerous clients on matters before the UK and EC competition authorities, regulators and courts and has testifying experience.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, Liam was the director of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Competition Economics practice in London. Liam was a member of the Competition Law Forum Article 82 Review Group and he has written and spoken widely on competition and litigation matters in particular. He has advised on all aspects of competition matters including antitrust, merger control, state aid and litigation. He has also advised on regulatory inquiries and disputes and strategic issues including investment appraisal and pricing.

Liam has assisted both public and private sector clients in a wide range of industries and has particularly extensive experience in financial services and telecoms as well as automotive, media, gambling and computing.

Liam holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Sussex, an MSc in Economics (with distinction) from Birkbeck College London and an MA in EC Competition Law (with merit) from Kings College London. Liam also holds a Certificate of Expert Witness Accreditation from Cardiff University Law School.
