Andy is a seasoned management consultant and business leader with 25 years of professional experience and a distinguished track record of achieving high-impact performance improvements for Fortune 500 companies worldwide. He has deep operations expertise, especially in purchasing, supply chain, asset optimization, and front-line operations. He also brings extensive industry experience across a broad array of sectors, including electric power, basic materials (pulp and paper, metals, glass), chemicals, oil and gas, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and industrial manufacturing.

Andy is best known for architecting and leading sustainable performance transformations. The hallmark of his work with clients is his ability to combine deep functional expertise, strong business acumen, and tested change leadership, with a pragmatic and collaborative approach that delivers distinctive results.

• Led purchasing transformations for a large North American electric power company, a leading glass and building products company, a global food and beverage company, and a Fortune 50 healthcare and consumer products company – efforts unlocked breakthrough cost reductions, embedded step-change improvements in purchasing capabilities across each organization, and enabled dramatic strengthening of each company’s supply base
• Designed aggressive performance improvement effort for leading petrochemical company undergoing spin-off – effort addressed cost, capital and revenue levers, and delivered major improvements in asset utilization, operating costs, and front-line work habits. Results where highlighted to investors as a key indicator of company’s turnaround
• Led performance improvement for leading convenience food retailer operating over 2000 locations – program yielded substantial purchasing and supply chain cost reductions, as well as increased front line revenue generation, which contributed significantly to stock price recovery

Prior to joining AlixPartners, Andy was a Partner with McKinsey & Company in Atlanta and a leader in the firm’s Operations Practice. Before that, he was a Partner with A.T. Kearney and leader in the firm’s Global Purchasing Practice. Earlier in his career, Andy held leadership positions with the General Electric Company and Hoechst AG in the United States and Europe. Andy holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with honors from Harvard University. He speaks English, German, and Spanish fluently.
