Darin Facer, a Managing Director in the Enterprise Improvement Practice at AlixPartners has extensive experience both as a professional advisor and an operational manager and has led numerous operational and financial performance improvement projects for companies in a wide range of industries. 

His specific area of expertise is in driving rapid results in the areas of profitability and margin improvement, operational and service delivery improvement and in enacting whole-company turnarounds in the Business & Consumer Services and Media and Entertainment Industries.

Within the Service industry, Mr. Facer has led a variety of results-oriented projects in the areas of SG&A realignment, field operations management, real estate/footprint optimization, sourcing-related cost reductions, market penetration & revenue growth strategies, and post merger integration.

Select experience includes:

  • Delivering over $100M in incremental profitability to a billion-dollar media and content company through initiatives related to customer pricing & profitability, labor utilization, SG&A  realignment, real estate rationalization, contract renegotiation, in-sourcing of previously outsourced functions, and general process reengineering
  • Leading a wide range of operational improvement initiatives during the turnaround of a large services company; including field labor optimization, SG&A transformation, and  a variety of contract profitability improvements.
  • Increasing EBITDA by 10% at a national route-based service firm by implementing a series of initiatives focused on branch office profitability enhancement, reengineered back-office functions, and wide-ranging improvements to field operations.
  • Increasing overall profitability at a multi-billion-dollar service company through field labor optimization, field asset optimization, contract profitability and service delivery improvement program.
  • Unlocking incremental profitability at a 200-location field service company by leading a series of initiatives focused on branch operational improvement, footprint consolidation, contract renegotiation, and optimization of back-office functions.

Prior to joining AlixPartners,  Darin led consulting engagements for Andersen Business Consulting, KPMG Consulting and the Management Consulting Division of Perot Systems.  Before becoming a professional advisor, Mr. Facer held various corporate financial and operational management roles including his tenure as the controller of a major temporary labor provider to the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games.

Darin holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, with concentrations in Operations, Finance, and International Business and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
