Goedeking, Philipp

Philipp Goedeking is a highly skilled aviation professional with over 25 years of experience. He has earned a track record of successful strategy and restructuring assignments for numerous players in the aviation industry around the world. He joined AlixPartners in 2011.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, he founded and led airconomy, a specialized aviation consulting and market intelligence company. airconomy was acquired by Amadeus IT Group in 2011. Before that Philipp was Senior Partner at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants for 15 years with global responsibility for Transportation. He led the Frankfurt office, served as Managing Director of Roland Berger China and also as a member of the Supervisory Board. He started his career  at Lufthansa German Airlines in IT, corporate strategy, and network management.

Philipp worked with boards and management of airlines, airports, regulators, governments, manufacturers, airline alliance groups , and investors developing and implementing competitive strategies, restructuring and turnaround programs. He led and assisted management teams through strategic and operational transitions. Assignments included:

  • Successful restructuring of several European airlines (realigning capacity, network, commercial framework, operational improvements, financial restructuring)
  • Industrial advisor for the privatization of a large European airline
  • Fundamental redesign of network and hub structure for one of the largest European airlines
  • Developing aggressive international growth strategy for Asian carrier, including low cost long haul concept (new destinations, fare concept, assessing price elasticities, scheduling
  • Governance strategy for key group of states within Single European Sky

Philipp holds a MSc. (Biology, Physics) and PhD (with distinction) from Bielefeld University. He has published numerous articles and a book on advanced airline network strategies
