Carl has more than thirty years of experience in the construction, energy, chemicals, processing and manufacturing industries. His engagement expertise covers the spectrum from strategic problem-solving through operational implementation, with particular emphasis on business restructuring, post-merger integration, cash management and supply chain.

Carl joined AlixPartners from A.T. Kearney, where he held the role of Managing Director of the UK and Vice President of the European Process Industry Group. Carl was also a member of the EDS Senior Leadership Team and European Operating Committee.

Within AlixPartners, Carl is the European co-leader of the private equity sector and has extensive experience working on due diligence, full potential programs and exit/refinancing initiatives.

Among his recent experiences and success are:

• Due diligence for a global medical care company and subsequent full potential program.
• Restructuring of a global automotive brake pad supplier
• Due diligence for a global roofing company and 100-day plan covering procurement and manufacturing
• Transition to China of the manufacturing base of a global survival equipment producer
• Post-merger integration of a $1 billion polymers business into BP chemicals
• Net working capital improvement program for BP Chemicals leading to a $600 million cash improvement in six months
• Manufacturing rationalization for a $2 billion European fine paper producer
• Business transformation for a global energy player, delivering $1 billion of performance improvements over an eighteen-month period

Prior to his work at A.T. Kearney, Carl worked for McKinsey and Company as a Senior Engagement Manager in London. He began his career with Shell International, where he served in a number of engineering and business development roles.

Carl holds a B.Sc. with honors in mechanical and production engineering from Bath University. He also holds a diploma in finance from the University of Liverpool and a master’s degree in business science from Manchester Business School.
