Head, David F.

David has 20 years of industry experience, mostly focused on automotive and manufacturing. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he was a Managing Director with Huron Consulting Group and before that he served as the Managing Partner of the Michigan office of Callaway Partners. He also spent more than seven years in the Strategy and Operations practice of Deloitte Consulting. Previously, David held global finance and planning positions for Visteon and Ford Motor Company, working extensively in planning the global production of automotive components in both Eastern and Western Europe as well as Asia.

David has managed the program offices for two of the largest financial restatements in US history: MCI and HealthSouth. He also created and managed the program office for the due diligence of the GM purchase of Daewoo’s global assets, an exercise that was awarded the Asian Deal of the Year by Corporate Finance.

David has managed large finance transformation projects across manufacturing, energy and healthcare industries. These include ERP upgrades and expansions, financial analysis (budgeting, planning and forecasting), process benchmarking and improvement, and corporate compliance (SOX).

Most recently, David has led projects aimed at supporting the restructuring and turnaround efforts of large manufacturing and telecoms companies, primarily focusing on case management and information management in support of Chapter 11 preparation and/or filing.

David holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Aston University (UK) and a master’s degree from Bradford University (UK). He is a certified Project Management Professional and a member of the Project Management Institute. He also is a member of the City and Guilds Institute in London, and he is a frequent speaker at industry events.
