David has extensive experience in cash focused turnarounds, distressed M&A and business performance management. His skills include re-establishing management control through process management, creating accountability and predictability, improving profitability and cash flows through rapid decision making and rapid implementation of change. He has significant experience in assessing strategic options, developing robust and achievable business plans and managing short-term liquidity during periods of crisis. David possesses a strong record of building stakeholder consensus for operational and financial restructuring plans. He has also taken interim roles with full accountability for functional leadership and the implementation of operational and financial restructuring. David holds a bachelor of engineering (hons) degree in civil engineering from the University of Bristol. He worked as an engineer and project manager for Balfour Beatty International on turnkey contracts for power stations and desalination plants before changing career to focus on finance and turnaround. David is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and an accredited Member of the Institute for Turnaround. He won the IFT’s “Turnaround Rising Star” award in 2009 for his work at Saab Automobile.
