Hirano, Hirofumi
Hiro joined AlixPartners from Nikko Cordial Group, Japan’s third largest securities firm, where he served as a director on its board. He also served as the Group CEO of Nikko’s merchant banking arm and as chairman of Nikko Principal Investments. In that role, he was responsible of Nikko’s global private investments which mainly cover the UK, Japan and Australia, and he has invested more than 7 billion dollars in these regions. Previously, Hiro was a director of Seibu Railway, Sony Retail Business Group (Life Style Corporation), Bell System 24, Tower Records Japan and served Nikko Asset Management as an outside director. Prior to his role of managing private equity portfolios, he advised investment banking clients in corporate finance, capital markets, and corporate planning.

Hiro’s AlixPartners clients include a Japanese asset managing company, one of the largest Japanese securities firm and an insurance company. These three companies are in transformation situations and all of them are expanding their global platforms. AlixPartners has assisted these clients construct worldwide strategies and has supported their communications efforts with overseas counterparts and stakeholders.

Hiro graduated from Keio University and has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago. He is also a member of the Global Advisory Board (Asia Cabinet) of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
