Leone, Francesco

Francesco Leone joined AlixPartners Enterprise Improvement practice in 2003 and was promoted to Managing Director in 2012.
Previously, he was a senior manager with A.T. Kearney, Milan, responsible for strategy and operational improvement projects within retail, foodservice, FMCG, and pharmaceutical sectors across Europe and the Middle East. Formerly, he served as a case leader with Monitor Company in Milan (IT).

Francesco’s experience includes performance improvement and turnaround advisory, for both industrial and financial clients (PE funds), blending his general business management and finance expertise to drive operational improvements and crisis recovery plans for mid-market and large international companies. His strengths reside in his operational skills and in the capacity to work in complex, international environments with great adaptability.

In a Performance Improvement context:

  • Business Plan assessment and support to restructuring plan implementation for a leading manufacturer of Business Jets
  • Large scale cost reduction for a global IT infrastructure provider to the Airlines and Airport industry
  • Procurement strategy and implementation, and working capital reduction for a leading manufacturer of machine tools
  • Post merger integration of the Italian operations of two leading grocery retailers headquartered in France
  • Re-definition of the European operation and supply chain strategy for a world leader in the white-goods industry

In a Turnaround and Restructuring context:

  • Managed the restructuring process (plant closure, union negotiations, vendor management, …) of a leading Italian player in the Port Equipment manufacturing business
  • For a UK PE fund, turnaround plan preparation for a leading Italian sport apparel and footwear producer

Francesco is a graduate of Universita’ Commerciale “Luigi Bocconi” in Milan, with a degree in business administration and international business.  He also attended executive education programs at Michigan University, and NYU-Leonard Stern School of Business (Finance and International Business) . He is a member of the Italian CPA Association.

Francesco’s mother tongue is Italian and he speaks English fluently.
