He is an expert in advising strategic and financial investors in Asia with deep operational and financial experience gained through more than 14 years of living and working in China and Japan. His primary experience is in the area of operational improvement and investment analysis as well as turnaround programs. Before joining AlixPartners as a Managing Director, Ivo was with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Shanghai and Tokyo serving as Partner and Head of the Practice Groups Private Equity and Corporate Finance and the Competence Center Financial Services in Greater China. Before his work at Roland Berger, Ivo was Director of Corporate Strategy with Charles Schwab & Co. in San Francisco. He is a guest lecturer at China Europe International Business School in Shanghai, publishes articles regularly, and recently co-authored a book on the Chinese banking industry. He is a sought after speaker at conferences and a frequent commentator on business in Asia in leading international media. He also acted for many years as a member of the board/statutory auditor for several multinational consumer goods companies in Japan. Ivo graduated from the University of Trier, Germany, and studied at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, and at the Mandarin Training Center in Taipei, Taiwan. He speaks German, English, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.
