Lorenzo has significant expertise in restructuring and turnarounds, including developing financial recovery plans, negotiating debt rescheduling, union negotiation, vendor management, capital structure optimization, and implementation of complex turnaround programs also with interim roles. Lorenzo is recognized for his ability to build consensus across difficult relationships and for his common-sense approach to complex business situations.

Lorenzo joined AlixPartners’ Turnaround and Restructuring Services group after more than 15 years of experience in both the industry and advisory sectors. He also has considerable experience with merger and acquisition activity, having generated, structured, and executed several domestic and cross-border transactions.

He worked for 6 years with Poli e Associati SpA in Milan where he was a Partner.

For two years he served as Director of Extraordinary Finance and Special Affairs in SMI – Società Metallurgica Italiana SpA, world’s largest copper and copper alloy processor - structuring and executing the turnaround of the Group:

• “Special Projects” included plants conversion and/or window down, overall cost reduction programs (SG&A, rationalization of corporate structure and working capital efficiency program)
• “Extraordinary Finance” included divestment of non core assets, M&A activity, launch of a PTO on listed German KME

He also held the position of Director of Corporate Development and Strategy at Fininvest Group’s New Media Division. The first 5 years of his career were with Morgan Stanley & Co. in London where he spent 2 years in the Mergers & Acquisition Department. He also spent 3 years in the Derivative Products Group, structuring and marketing throughout Southern Europe.

Lorenzo holds a bachelor's degree in economics with honors from Universitá degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza, Rome, and he is a Certified Internal Auditor. He is a member of the TMA Italian Chapter. He is fluent in Italian and English.
