Mike has more than 20 years of experience working with manufacturing, consumer products, and retail companies. His focus for the past several years has been on working directly with chief executives and private equity owners to execute aggressive company turnarounds. His expertise spans all functions that directly touch the product or the customer, including:

  • Research & Development: Establishing stage gate management processes, designing business case justification procedures, conducting innovation workshops, and implementing technology review boards.
  • Sales: Improving global sales processes, defining opportunity tracking procedures, designing sales compensation & training programs, and implementing Sales Force Automation systems.
  • Marketing: Directing market research programs, developing brand architectures, improving advertising effectiveness, building value propositions & value calculators, improving pricing processes, and implementing pricing optimization systems.
  • Customer Service: Designing & building customer call centers, creating off-shore service centers, defining escalation & service dispatch protocols, and implementing Customer Relationship Management systems.
  • Manufacturing: Improving plant productivity, reducing manufacturing costs, developing long range capacity plans, deploying lean manufacturing practices, and implementing both MRP & ERP systems.
  • Supply Chain: Defining optimal plant & warehouse locations, implementing S&OP programs, directing inventory reduction efforts, conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, and implementing finite capacity planning systems.
  • Process Engineering: Establishing capital investment & authorization review processes, defining efficient plants layouts, selecting process technologies, and implementing shop floor process instrumentation.
  • Quality: Leading six sigma improvement efforts, establishing quality circles & quality improvement teams, and implementing balanced scorecard performance metrics.


Mike’s broad experience provides a unique perspective on the interrelationship of complex core business processes. He has shared this perspective in numerous external forums ranging from the Professional Pricing Society’s annual certification program to Purdue University’s executive education program.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Arizona State. Prior to entering the consulting field, he worked in R&D for Honeywell Aerospace and strategic planning for the Walt Disney Company.
