Philip has over 20 years of experience in helping clients to develop operational strategies and improve their operating performance. His industry experience includes automotive, manufacturing, food, consumer products, retail, transportation and financial institutions.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, he was a Managing Director with Mercer Management Consulting, where he led the Supply Chain Practice in North America. In that role, he was responsible for major client accounts and expanding the firm’s supply chain capabilities. Before that, he was a Vice President with A.T. Kearney, responsible for helping automotive and manufacturing clients with restructuring, strategic sourcing, supply chain and asset productivity. He has also held management positions at Chrysler and Husky Injection Molding.

His recent client experience includes:

  • For a global automotive Tier 1 supplier, he led a cost reduction program that achieved $120 million in cost savings by developing strategic sourcing and design-to-cost strategies.
  • For a U.S. automotive OEM, he led a turnaround program that achieved $200+ million in cost savings through design cost reduction, joint process improvement with suppliers and Lean Manufacturing.
  • For a U.K. automotive OEM, he conducted a post-merger integration program. The effort involved 140 client team members and 8 consultants focused on synergies in purchasing and product design, and realized $150 million in benefits in 8 months.
  • For an aerospace company, he facilitated the development of a new organization structure to drive better cross-functional collaboration. Achieved a goal of $250+ million in cost savings as a result of overhead reduction and organization restructuring.
  • For an aerospace company, he conducted an assessment of an underperforming supplier and developed a turnaround plan.
  • For a U.K. manufacturer of power generation equipment, he led a turnaround program that achieved $200+ million in savings from asset restructuring, overhead cost reduction and strategic sourcing.
  • For a global food company, led a Lean Transformation program that deployed Lean Manufacturing techniques and supply chain operations improvements, resulting in $90 million in cost savings.
  • For a durable goods manufacturer, he conducted a Joint Process Improvement program, funded 50/50 by the client and a retailer. Teams optimized product design, supply chain operations, and product quality, resulting in $30 million in savings.


Philip holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with honors from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.
