Michael Weyrich is an experienced turnaround professional with 20 years of experience in leading multi-national turnaround and restructuring efforts, improving/restoring corporate performance, and M&A while working with the financial sponsors, boards of directors, and management of companies. Before joining AlixPartners he was working within management consulting, finance and industry. He joined AlixPartners from the GSMA, the London-based global wireless industry association, where he was Chief Strategy and Development Officer responsible for a number of strategic initiatives involving the association’s more than 700 industry members. Prior to that, he was a Senior Executive with Accenture (previously Andersen Consulting) in London. In that role, he was responsible for strategic planning, performance improvement, and turnaround initiatives for several Fortune 1000 companies, primarily within the high tech, telecoms, FMCG and industrial products sectors. Michael started his career within the Executive Office of Danisco Group, a global industrial group dealing with sugar, food ingredients and packaging. Michael holds an MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and Copenhagen Business School, as well as a BSc in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. He has lived and worked in the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, China, and the US. His language skills include English, German, Swiss German, Danish, and conversational French.
