Ramachandran, C V

CV brings a deep understanding of the global dynamics across several manufacturing industries to his clients – and has a strong track record of helping clients improve operational and financial performance  (including those in private equity portfolios). His broad functional expertise includes purchased cost reductions, supply chain management, innovation / product development, lean manufacturing and overhead cost reduction. CV has been with AlixPartners for over eight years and is currently the head of AlixPartners’ Asian business in Hong Kong.  Prior to this, CV was Head of Operations for AlixPartners’ European / Middle East business based in London.  Before that, he was part of the Detroit office senior leadership.


Before joining AlixPartners, CV spent thirteen successful years in management consulting, first as a partner at Booz·Allen & Hamilton and then at A.T. Kearney.  Prior to his management consulting career, CV worked with Midland Ross Corporation for four years and then with Ford Motor Company for five years.

 

Throughout his career, CV and his teams have helped clients improve performance.  Some examples include:

 

  • Completed operational transformation for a client in the manufactured home business – including purchased costs reduction, manufacturing footprint rationalization and overhead costs reduction
  • Restructured international business units for an automotive OEM – as part of a US Chapter 11 bankruptcy
  • Implemented sustainable operational improvements across several global manufacturing companies – including pricing rationalization, complexity optimization and supply chain transformation
  • Purchased cost and inventory reduction for a consumer products company and for a health care company
  • Helped clients with post merger integration in several situations – created sustainable shareholder value through a full potential improvement program deployed at the acquired company.
  • Streamlined the product development and innovation process at several clients – to both accelerate cycle time and to improve efficiency
  • Completed due diligence for various private equity funds and hedge funds – across multiple industry sectors

 

CV has received the highest awards for both helping clients improve performance and building sustainable client relationships.  CV has also published multiple articles on product innovation and purchasing effectiveness and has made presentations at several global conferences.  He is also broadly recognized for his people development skills and for being an active mentor.
 

 

CV has an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with specialization in Strategy and International Business. He also has an MS in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh; and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.  He is married, has two sons.
