In this article, we comment on the Furman report: the findings of the UK government-appointed Digital Competition Expert Panel led by Jason Furman to consider the potential opportunities and challenges the emerging digital economy may pose for competition and pro-competition policy. The Panel delivered its report in March 2019 and set out a raft of far-reaching proposals to “unlock digital competition”. We consider the implications of the proposals for competition and innovation in the digital economy.
