What you’ll do

In this key role within the AlixPartners’ Corporate Services Marketing team, you will support the Event Marketing team primarily on U.S. based events of all sizes. These include internal and client-facing events, both virtual and in-person. Responsibilities will include planning support and onsite presence. The ability to attend evening events in NYC and travel domestically during May and June is required.

The Events Marketing Intern is a part-time role (Feb - Aug) located in New York, NY, and reports to the Head of Events Marketing. Paid relocation is not available.

  • Create a database of venues that can be cross-referenced by location, size, and event type.
  • To include everything from small Local Market restaurants with Private Dining to 150-person cocktail receptions to our largest global team meeting size (2,500 people).
  • Manage submissions from the Global Event Request Form and share with the team.
  • Co-produce small-scale webinars.
  • Provide support on large-scale webinars.
  • Source venues for event requests with less than 50 attendees; including local dinners/receptions as well as offsite meetings where sleeping rooms are needed.
    • This can vary. For example, VIP dinners/offsites will still be handled by Senior Event Team.
  • Provide weekly reporting on event registrations/RSVPs. Share with organization’s stakeholders as needed.
  • Prepare name badges and any other printed collateral prior to event.
  • Provide onsite event registration support.
  • Signage support – work with Design team, proof-reading, etc.
  • Specifically for Global/Americas Team Meetings:
    • Branding and signage assistance including collating all signage requests, submitting to Design team, proofing, and coordinating with printer.
    • Collect and organize all audio/visual requests.
    • Food and beverage support: maintain spreadsheet, one-off meal requests, small group meals.
    • Support small/subgroup gathering requests.
    • Review BEOs.
    • Provide invoice support.
    • Proof-reading communications.
    • Provide support on housing and travel.
    • Onsite support.

What you’ll need

  • High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program, preferably in a hospitality management program.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organized and proactive with the ability to meet deadlines for multiple workstreams.
  • Executive presence. You will be working with high-level internal and external contacts.

  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
  • Ability to travel in the domestic U.S. in May and June.
