Companies are pulling out of more business partnerships and M&A as data security concerns and overseas risks pile up.

Intended to determine the impact of corruption on the global business environment and understand the ways companies are dealing with corruption risk, the fifth annual global anticorruption survey shows that companies continue to be concerned with corruption risk and have increasingly stopped doing business with certain partners (42%, up from 32% last year) or lost business (31%, up from 23% last year) due to corruption risk.

The survey polled more than 300 senior executives —general counsel and compliance officers— at US, European, and Asian companies with annual revenues of $150 million or more between November and December 2016.
