All of us have learned new behaviors over the past year to cope with limitations on social interactions and activities imposed by the pandemic. But human beings are creatures of habit. Will these newly learned habits stick, or will they evaporate and place us right back into our pre-pandemic ways? This is a complicated question—but it’s a question that every consumer-facing company must consider as it plans its future.

We asked thousands of consumers back in July how they were feeling about doing certain activities—like taking a plane or trying makeup on in a beauty store—and if they were ready to start doing these again. And then we asked the same questions again in January of this year. AlixPartners CEO Simon Freakley discusses the findings of our ongoing study in his latest article for LinkedIn.
