Senior hire further strengthens AlixPartners’ turnaround and restructuring practice

AlixPartners, the global business advisory firm, today announces the appointment of Dr. Rainer Bizenberger as Managing Director in its turnaround and restructuring practice, based in Germany.

Rainer joins AlixPartners having spent 15 years specialising in restructuring at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. There, he served as a senior partner in the Restructuring and Corporate Finance Competence Centre and was most recently co-head of the Berlin office.

Rainer has a specific expertise in advising entrepreneurs and company on strategic, operational and financial restructuring. He has a wealth of experience advising on complex refinancing and transformation programmes, particularly during M&A transactions. In addition to his advisory role, Rainer recently supported one of his clients by serving as interim chief restructuring officer (CRO).

Rainer holds a Ph.D. in innovative corporate finance (Dr. rer. pol.) and a Master-equivalent degree (Dipl.-Kaufmann) from the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. In addition, he has been a teacher in the Masters program for restructuring at the University of Heidelberg (LL.M. corp. restruct.) for the last ten years. Rainer started his professional career in a German Landesbank and an international media company.
