Matthew has over 30 years of experience in the areas of turnaround and financial restructuring, with a career spanning over 200 relevant cases, including 65 of those in the Middle East. Matthew has acted as lead advisor in countless restructurings and as an interim manager in a variety of Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) roles across several sectors including oil & gas, healthcare, hospitality & leisure, consumer goods, and real estate & construction. Prior to joining AlixPartners, Matthew worked at PwC, leading the corporate finance and restructuring team, a team of 40 professionals. His previous experience also includes leading PwC’s restructuring businesses in Australia, the Benelux countries, and the UK.
Matthew is a UK chartered accountant (ICAEW), is qualified to act as an Insolvency Practitioner in the UK (JIEB) and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics.
