How we helped

A high-profile hospitality technology company sought our assistance to investigate public whistleblower allegations and a subsequent regulatory inquiry relating to its online customer reservation systems, consumer personal data flows, and the alleged movement of personally identifying information into foreign jurisdictions, and disclosure to foreign authorities.

AlixPartners conducted interviews across the engineering, legal, and IT organizations, and reviewed data architecture diagrams, source code repositories, and existing systems documentation to document the global dataflow architecture and compare ground truth to executive expectations, public statements, and regulatory requirements.

We delivered a comprehensive report to the client’s general counsel detailing these data flows in easy-to-read diagrams, which proved to be key to resolving the investigation with a favorable outcome. We also provided actionable, prioritized recommendations to the client that allowed them to improve their data privacy compliance programs.
