Our MBA summer internship program provides an immersive experience into the life of an AlixPartners consultant.

Interns work on real world client projects, owning workstreams and key deliverables, receive training on core consulting skills, and benefit from coaching and mentoring from our senior leaders.

Our experience is individualized:

  • We take an entrepreneurial approach with personalized support
  • We value diverse thought and inclusivity
  • We’re a meritocracy – you choose your own trajectory
  • No up or out means you decide the pace of your growth
  • We offer a dynamic hybrid operating model that sets a new standard for how we work together, and the value of personal time.
  • Our business is a collaborative matrix that drives capability development, flexibility, and an open exchange of ideas.

We offer a 10-week program in the United States and an 8-week program in London, Paris, Milan, Munich, and Dusseldorf.

An immersive experience

Interns get a first-hand look at our culture and the way we work so that upon completion of the program they are prepared to be an AlixPartners consultant.

  • Core consulting training: Intensive training at start of program and job skills building throughout internship.
  • Client work: Interns are assigned to a project team based on their skills, experiences, desires, and current project teams and are embedded with this team throughout the duration of the program.
  • Direct coaching: Interns are paired with an experienced director throughout internship for mentoring and coaching.
  • Networking: Interns build their networks through formal activities, social events, and daily interactions with their project teammates.
“Having the opportunity to work along with leading industry professionals and to become one yourself is a unique opportunity that AlixPartners provides. Delivering memorable results to our clients at the most crucial times, creates strong lasting relationships and brings new opportunities. The skills and knowledge that I acquired at AlixPartners play a crucial part in being successful at my current role.”

The AlixPartners way

We create and encourage environments that support awareness, learning and collaboration in our work with both our colleagues and our clients.

Based on an apprenticeship model, interns work in focused client teams alongside our Partners & Managing Directors, and the owners, boards, and CEOs that are our clients:

  • Work alongside Consultants with 10-20+ years’ experience
  • Structure, execute and own your work
  • Manage mid-level client relationships
  • Make presentations to senior clients

Complementing these impactful on-the-job experiences are targeted trainings and events that will ensure that you gain expertise across a range of disciplines and industries and a professional network, that will stay with you through your career.

What we look for

  • Innovative people that take ownership, generate ideas and solutions, as individuals and as team members.
  • Self-starters who want to make an impact, working side-by-side with clients, and who have excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical thinkers that overcome obstacles to help clients solve complex problems in challenging and fast-paced situations.
  • And most of all, people who are never done learning.

It's how we work that makes us different

AlixPartners helps businesses around the world respond to challenges when everything is on the line. Each project in each industry is different, but they all have one thing in common—a need for decisive, informed, and often urgent action. And because that need is at the heart of everything we do, it has come to shape every aspect of our business.
