Travel is part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.
What you'll do
We now have a number of Manchester based opportunities within our formal insolvency team, an integral part of the wider TRS practice. The team is involved in formal insolvency cases from the outset – managing a portfolio of approximately 120 cases - taking responsibility for statutory duties, creditor communications, asset realisations, investigations, employee redundancies, claims and correspondence, and case closure. We deal with all types of formal insolvency cases including administrations, liquidations, receiverships, and company voluntary arrangements. Additionally, the team is involved in many strategic projects, including designing and implementing new practice systems, polices, and internal training programmes.

Responsibilities:
- Assist colleagues with the progression and timely closure of formal insolvency work (all case types)
- Use IPS case management system to complete diary prompts and ensure compliance of receipts and payments accounts
- Complete statutory tasks including day one appointment notifications, completion of case checklists and initial drafting of various types of formal reports (for all case types)
- Assist the team with management of various, and often conflicting, stakeholder groups (including secured creditors, employees, company management and creditors)
- Adherence to filing protocol and taking responsibility for ensuring files reflect case progress (including preparation of file memos and telephone notes to add to the file)
- Assist treasury team with raising payments and completing case journals
- Analyse financial information to assist with investigations into company affairs
- Attend client site if needed to assist project team
Ability to exercise sound judgement and apply technical knowledge, prioritise effectively, work well as part of a team, demonstrate commerciality, problem solving skills and awareness of the ‘big picture’ are key requisite skills.
What you'll need
- Bachelors degree or relevant school leaver experience will also be considered.
- An interest in financial accounting principles.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages would be advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, working well with colleagues across TRS.
- The ability to use your own initiative and problem solve with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks, keeping to tight and structured deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Willingness to constantly upgrade your own knowledge and commitment to career development, with the motivation to study while working full time.
- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday
