Office Enhances AlixPartners' Offering in the Strategically Important Texan Market Across a Wide Variety of Industries.

(September 15, 2016) – AlixPartners, the global business-advisory firm, today announced the opening of an office in Houston, Texas. This is AlixPartners' 25th office worldwide, and its ninth in the US, and is an important milestone in the firm's global growth strategy.

AlixPartners has successfully worked with clients in Texas for many years, including Houston-based clients such as LyondellBasell Industries, Calpine, The Men's Wearhouse and, more recently, Linn Energy. The firm also has had an office in Dallas for many years. The Houston office will build on this strong franchise and enable the firm to enhance its offerings -- which include consulting, restructuring, forensics, digital-transformation and organizational services -- across a wide variety of industries, including energy, chemicals, maritime, aerospace and defense, healthcare, high tech and retail/consumer products.

The Houston office will be led by Becky Roof, a managing director at AlixPartners and local market leader for the Houston region. Roof joined the firm in 1998 and has an extensive background in providing advisory and C-suite interim-management services for companies in a broad array of industries. Notable engagements include interim chief financial officer of Eastman Kodak, interim global controller of Lyondell Basell, chief restructuring officer (CRO) of Taro Pharmaceutical Industries, CRO of ERG Resources and, currently, a senior role advising C& J Energy Services. In 2013, Roof was named one of 12 "Women Leaders in Consulting" by Consulting magazine.

The new office will initially be home to approximately 25 AlixPartners professionals. That includes three other managing directors at the firm – Bill Ebanks, David Hindman and Larry Young – as well as 12 directors, AlixPartners' second-most-senior position. AlixPartners also plans to grow the team in line with the expected high level of demand for its services in the region. At the same time, and in keeping with the firm's "one-firm" culture, clients will also have access to AlixPartners' personnel and other resources globally, to ensure the best teams are in place for each individual situation.

Simon Freakley, chief executive officer of AlixPartners, said, "AlixPartners prides itself on being a truly global firm, and the opening of our Houston office is another important stage in our ongoing growth. Texas has long been an important region for us and we are excited about the continued opportunities in the market. We look forward to working with both existing and new clients, making a difference when it really matters, in the years ahead."

"We are thrilled to be further building our presence in Texas," said Roof. "Houston plays a key role as home to numerous leading businesses, in many sectors and with diverse needs. AlixPartners' deep expertise across a wide range of industries, including energy, makes us uniquely placed to drive real change for companies in this region."

Houston is the fourth-largest metropolitan economy in the United States, the headquarters of more than 3,000 energy-related companies and 23 companies on the Fortune 500 list.

AlixPartners' new office is located at 1221 McKinney St. in downtown Houston.
